Good Feng Shui gives us an edge in all parts of our life, and in no area is that more apparent than career.

When it comes to a successful career, the best thing you can do is make sure you’re working in a space that supports you energetically.

What exactly does that mean?

Classical Feng Shui takes a building’s age and exact compass orientation to determine it’s underling “energy blueprint.” This reading tells us how strong our space is for money, power, fame, and career.

The energy blueprint can also can determine the best spot to place your desk, based on where the money energy is strongest in your space. (Every space is different, you can read more about my services here.)

Tips for Career Success

1)    The desk should face into the room, not directly at a wall. It is best to orient the desk looking towards the door. If that is not possible, position a mirror in such a way that the door can always be seen. This keeps you in a powerful position.
2)    Place water by the door of your office to attract new business. Fountains are great for this, but even a bowl of fresh water with floating flowers will do.
3)    Make sure to keep images of success around you: photos, collages, artwork, etc.
4)    Write out your vision for career as if it’s already happened, and read it daily.
5)    Place your business cards in the south corner of your desk, along with a candle or color red to attract good press.
6)    Reduce clutter and keep trash to a minimum (to avoid stagnant chi).
7)    Make sure there is good lighting in your office, which lifts your mood and energy level.

8)    Keep the entrance to your office clear: make sure there is nothing you can trip over, and ensure the door can swing fully open. This will allow the chi energy to flow easily, bringing new opportunities.

 

 

Bonus Tips for Success in 2024

In Classical Feng Shui, we also have yearly tips. Here is how to take advantage of the year’s abundant energy and reduce any weak spots:

Weak Direction: Each year there is a different area that is problematic. In 2024 it falls in the West, and may create obstacles to career, especially if the door to your office or home falls in this direction.

To Remedy the Weak spot: To neutralize the effects, place METAL items in this area (i.e., computer equipment, metal filing cabinets, a wind chime or metal clock).

Strong Direction: Just as there is a problem area each year, so too there is a highly beneficial energy that we want to use. In 2024, the great area for creating new opportunities falls in the North.

To Enhance the strong zone: If possible, I recommend arranging the layout of your office so you spend a good amount of time in the North. Also, you can place a WATER feature in the North to increase wealth.
